  • NPT pipe taps have a tapered male and female thread and act as both the mechanical joint and the hydraulic seal. 
  • NPT taps produce threads that require sealant when joined to an external NPT threaded part. 
  • The square shank is provided to fit well into tap wrenches. 
  • The threads are formed in the right-hand (clockwise) cutting direction.
