Precise Drill Press Angle Vise 2-1/2" - P-250A

First the positives: This was a bargain priced clone of the Palmgren Model 000 vise. The casting and machining was of very good to excellent quality. The parts fit and functioned well. All of the corners and edges were clean and sharp. The painted finish was also good. The negatives: Initially...read more the vise movable jaw was stuck, due to the Cosmoline used to protect it. This was good thing as there was absolutely no rust on it. A quick soak in some solvent allowed me to disassemble and thoroughly clean it, something I always do with machine tools anyway. Additionally the picture did not exactly match the product as I would have preferred the "T" handle like the Palmgren vise as opposed to the hinged lever style handle on mine. The color was not the same either (silver vs blue) perhaps Precise changed their supplier and their stock photo had not been updated yet. I also own an identical Palmgren Model 000 vise. Functionally there is no difference between the two except the price. I am very pleased with my purchase.
