How To Prevent Accidents in the Workplace

Accidents in the workplace occur way too often and can be easily avoided. In regard to machine shop accidents, it can be as bad as a life-or-death situation. However, the employer can take one of two approaches, treat the workers’ injury, or can become an eye opener and learn from his or her mistakes. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, about a little over than 3 out of 100 full-time experienced machine shop workers get injured in their workplace. Let’s lower these numbers and prevent the unnecessary injuries so businesses can work smoothly without any unexpected interruptions of improper care of machinery.

Avoid the deep bloody cuts from improper knowledge of machinery, breathing in highly poisonous chemicals, flying sharp parts from loose bolts and screws, or the chance of ruining your perfect 20/20 vision.

○Examine machinery for loose parts of you to prevent any instability from hurting an employee

●Take your time

○Rushing never ends good

○This just increases your chances on an unpredicted injury or a simple mistake

●Eyes open, chin up

○Pay attention

○Working with machinery needs detail-oriented workers to take control of the operation to prevent any simple mistakes
